I started with S26 for preemies, then switched to S26 1 which made DS squirm and scream after each meal. The Dr said it was reflux and we should switch to S26 AR (anti-reflux) which made him throw up lots after each meal. Then when visiting my home country we saw a paed there who said the baby's tummy did not agree with cow's milk - in her words: cow's milk is for cows :) so she recommended a brand with hydrolised milk which worked wonders for DS but when we came back to Dubai we could not find here, so: we tried Aptamil which seemed to work (although it contained fish so it naturally smelled of fish - quite offputting) but alas! the new cans had a new formula which did not have hydrolised milk and again DS was not burping and had lots of gas. Now on recommendation of a user on EW, we tried NAN HA which seems to work and we know we can find at both my and DH's home countries when we travel home. So, problem solved for us - finally :)
What I am trying to say is that every baby seems to be different and you may need to find out by trial and error (sadly).
I started with Similac as the Hospital recommended it used it for 2 months - but ended up with Hipp Organic - LO used to have trapped wind - lots of tummy pain etc.... none of this with Hipp, he was like a different baby - we are really happy with it!
similac advance. Its the light blue label. Its a trusted brand back home and the other one that agreed with my first so I didn't want to try a bunch of others with my second.
Which one do you use?
Why did you choose that one?
I chose progress - because that's what was the best option when my first was born here. Since then, there seem to be a dozen more brands available here - too many shelves - too many brands - so much writing!
