When I found out I was pregnant with DD it was when I was traveling for business. DH and I met up in London for a weekend and went out for a nice dinner. We ordered champaign and I made the toast "to my last sip of wine for 9 months". For family we did a similar thing with the scan. We gave the scan to my nephew (7 yo) and asked him to ask grandma what it was. It took her a lot longer to clue in than we thought it would! For DS, we emailed a picture of DD with a "big sis" tshirt surrounded by dummies and bottles and blankies. Whatever way you do it is very fun.

a cute way a cousin told family was a picture of her family's feet and it either said 'and then there were four' or make room for one more

What I did: for the family; it was Christmas time and so I made Christmas cards showing at the front a Santa carrying a heavy bag and it read: what is Santa bringing this year? and inside it was a copy of the scan. (I gave them the card in person, they love it: not only they "were told" but they also kept the first scan as a souvenir...) of course, it is not Christmas now, so a bit trickier with the whole santa thing, but you could try a similar idea if you like it... for my husband: my personal experience was a bit rubbish, i thought there was something wrong with me (i.e. I could not be pregnant!), we bought the test just in case... when it was positive, i just said: "i think i might be.." next time i think i will try the tantrum! ;)

Mornin. I have no help when it comes to hubby. he just had to see my face and he knew...sucka! But when it comes to fam, I am the only one here, so I am announcing in an email with the subject: "so when is this morning sickness supposed to end???" something like that. I am also africna american, so an old wives tale is that someone in the family will dream of fish when someone is preggers. I would say: "so did anyone dream of fishes recently?". it automatically means I'm preggers! I like the tantrum idea too! :D

For DH just buy a few movies with BABY in the title and ask him which one he wants to watch....Three Men and a Baby, etc...

I told DH that we were going to have to stop having ***. I get pregnant really easily, you see, and DS was a complete [happy'> accident WAY ahead of schedule!

My sister made her DH a CD in which all the songs had the word "baby" in them ... took him for a long drive and made him guess the theme!

Dress your first child in a tshirt that says "older brother" or "older sister" and see how long it takes for family/DH to notice! :)

Take a digital pregnancy test, the ones that say "pregnant". Take a photo of it and MMS/Email it to them?
