Afterviewing both medcare and fahound, I chose al Garhound and will be delivering there on Saturday with dr Ekaterina (being induced)...will let you know how my experience goes!
I went to Al Garhoud last weekend to try and get my baby turned as I'm now 39 weeks and he's still transverse. The staff was wonderful and helpful. We're going again this Saturday to try turning again or ending up with a c section. The nursery and NICU look clean and well staffed. We have been pleased so far. Best of luck happy.

Although I'm still trying to decide between Medcare and AL Garhoud for my delivery I wanted to share my experience with Al Garhoud last month. It was unfortunate that I had to be admitted for a threatened first trimester miscarriage but the good news is that my baby was saved and my pregnancy is progressing well! I must say I was IMPRESSED with all levels of service at Al Garhoud, from the moment I stepped inside until I was discharged the following day. The receptionists, nurses, doctors even cleaning staff were attentive, kind and professional. The hospital is very clean and quiet. The nurses attended to my calls within seconds, literally. The food was excellent. I'm trying to find out more information regarding delivery there (postnatal care of baby etc). So far though the scales are tipping towards Al Garhoud for me. Please share if you've delivered there or if you think Medcare is better. Thanks
I'm also with dr Ekaterina thus have the Garhound and Medcare as options - I hope to tour both in the next week or so. Has anyone delivered at either of these, and are there any positives or negatives to share?
Hi ladies, so I went to Al Garhoud Private Hospital today for my first appointment with Dr. Nadia. I have to say, I was extremely impressed!! The hospital was clean, rooms are big and nicely decorated.
We were taken on a tour of the 2 maternity floors where I met the head midwife who was lovely. I then had my appointment with Dr. Nadia - she is brilliant. Very thorough as it was our first appointment, she did a scan so she could take a look at baby. Made me feel very at ease and was happy to discuss everything in as much detail as we wanted. We were actually with her for just under an hour in total.
All the staff in the OB/Gyn section were so pleasant to deal with.
I feel totally at ease now about delivering there - just wanted to give some feedback :)
Hi ladies, I was registered at City but my company recently changed health insurance providers and now I am not covered for City.
I am covered for Al Garhoud Private Hospital so have made an appointment with Dr. Nadia Al Sawalhi on Saturday so will give you all an update after that. Has anyone met her yet?
the dr I have is Dr. Ekatrina from infinity clinic. She delivered my second when she was still at city hospital. I rather stick with her since she knew everything about my delivery and what complications there were.
It seems though no one has info to share yet. Have any of you registered there yet? I keep forgetting to.
I had asked this same question before. My dr use to deliver at city but now delivers at the two listed hospitals. Where exactly is al garhoud hospital? Good to know its clean. My dr said what's nice is there is always a dr at the hospital and luckily nicu that starts at 34 weeks as I usually deliver at 35.

Hi Monash ..
I am in the same situation like you and i decided to go check both hospitals and see which one I will feel more comfortable in. I have friends delivered recently in Medcare and all of them were happy with the hospital hygiene and everything but the main concern is that the opened new ICU for babies so in all recent cases they took the babies to the ICU even if there is nothing serious. This is the main thing i am afraid of regarding Medcare. My doctor is highly recommending Al Garhoud Private Hospital and as I am Egyptian. She was telling me that I will find a very friendly environment there as most of the stuff are arabs.
When is your due date?? Which doctor you are following up with ?
I am planning to go to Al Garhoud Private Hospital next Saturday .. I will update you with what I saw there and I really would appreciate if anyone delivered there can help us to get any feedback .. Good luck :)
My doctor only delivers at Medcare and the new Al Garhoud Private Hospital. I have heard too many negative stories to now consider Medcare, so I wanted to see if anyone had any information or personal experiences on delivering at Al Garhoud Private Hospital? Many thanks:)
