Hi, daughter breast feeding, baby took bottle at first now will not tried different teats and having breast milk that has been expressed. Daughter going back to work in a month. Desperately worried. Does anyone know of midwife or like that can help

I had the same issue with my daughter and tried many different bottles. The one that worked was NUK. There is two kinds one is a standard size the other is a shorter wider bottle (the teat base is bigger).. the one that worked for my exclusively BF baby is the first one. If you haven't already tried it do give it a try. Also try water or herbal tea to see if she wud take something other than milk with the teat and then move onto milk. Hope it sorts out!

can you help and take the baby for the day - I did that for a friend of mine - the baby only wanted to be breast fed and could clearly smell the milk from Mummy. I took him and cuddled him and offered him the bottle - there was no way he could smell any milk from me! I reassured him, cuddled him. He ended up being very hungry - he put up a good fight but we eventually broke his resolve and he took a bottle happily and it helped her to wean him onto the bottle. It's so much harder for the mum and you end up offering the breast. As your daughter has a time issue it may well be the best way for Grandma to step in and have a snuggly day with the baby and help put some distance between breasts and bottles! good luck! <em>edited by Clairehdp on 21/02/2013</em>

There is a La Leche League in Dubai that might be able to help. Also, expatwoman has a breastfeeding help page with midwifes, lactation consultants, etc. listed perhaps some of them can help. http://www.expatwoman.com/dubai/monthly_pregnancy_babies_Breastfeeding_Support_In_Dubai_8935.aspx Good luck! I know that's a very hard situation to be in.
