DH and I were planning a camping trip to Oman this weekend. We were planning on visiting Jabal Shams Canyons and of course do some trekking as well. I am in very good shape but I have not gone trekking in a while or visited a place with high elevation (3000 m.) I just found out I was pregnant a few weeks ago and I have PCOS which means I already have a higher chance of miscarriage. I just left a message with my OB/gyn to see what she says. DH seems to think it might be okay if we go (he has been planning this camping trip for weeks). Have any of you been to Oman? Please let me know what you would do in my situation. I would appreciate it a lot.
I think we should just skip the trip and stay home for the weekend or maybe go camping somewhere local. :)

Thanks for your advice Nutty. We decided not to go and will be staying in today. Don't want to risk anything happening. We can go camping some other time. :) edited by Sal 123 on 30/09/2011

Think the higher altitude will work your already working hard body that little bit more than you expec tbut from a physical point of veiw that should be fine.I would be more concerned that being remote with minimal health care facilities around. I know there is nothing theycan do to stop a m/c if god forbid it happened it would be the repair work i would be worried about.
