i started my ds's water 3 days back. i have a tommy tippee explora. all he do with it is massage his gums and whatever water goes inside he spits out making faces :) i tried giving him with spoon but i don't want to make it a habit.
he only wants the water from the shower!! he keeps his tongue out and waits for me to reach his head so that he can lick some water :D

By constipated do you mean his poo was coming out as hard pellets, or do you just mean he didn't poo every day. EBF babies often poo only once a week as there is less wastage from BM vs formula. My guy used to go once every 8 days, but when it came out it was like thick yoghurt, if its like that they are not constipated, just normal. Once he started solids he pooed twice a day, I miss the EBF'd days ;) Key to BLW is being baby-led, it doesn't really matter if you give finger foods, purees or both, the main thing is let your baby decide how much they want and don't push them.

ok...he was too constipated and i am starting his solids today.anyways he just take a drop or 2 and i will stop that. i am actually thinking of combining BLW and purees both.let him eat at breakfast and dinner on the table with us then afternoon puree. @shjbellie : i won't start his juices till 1 yr of age. he can have fruits only. because i know otherwise fruits will be on the side and juices he will prefer :) (like his dad)

By regular cup, just s few sips at a time he was around 8 months when I introduced water. I just used regular water from the cooler. Are you giving solids yet? If not, no need for water, if you are, you can make purees a bit more watery instead. BF babies often do better just from a small cup, touch it to his lips and tip it slightly. I often used to give from a water bottle (like a small bottle of evian) as well. We didn't really do sippy cups until he was older.

Hi AJ, I read in the other thread that your DS is fully b/fed. Like you,DD was fully b/fed and I only introduced liquid to her when I started weaning, but only with super diluted juice. She had that for months. She only started drinking water recently, when she saw other kids drinking water in school. So don't worry. Chill. You need to enjoy motherhood not stress about it. Besides, babies are meant to be chubby and not skinny. I miss DD in her cubby state. :D S
