Hey ladies

Just wondering how you told your DH that you were expecting? Did you just come out with it or do something more imaginative to break the exciting news?

Looking forwards to hearing your stories! :) xx

with DS1, I thought I was pregnant (we weren't trying) took a test and sure enough positive. Called my DH at work and cried and told him. DS2 (try for 2nd when DS1 was 6mth) both of us didn't think it would happen that quick. Took a test 3days before period and very light positive told husband and we started laughing cause it happened so quickly. Telling the family was different. I sent big fortune cookies to my parents and sister and inside they read, "someone closed to you is expecting" & "a new addition is likely" they were over the moon. with DS2 I put a shirt on DS1 which read "I'm not monkeying around I'm going to be a big brother". It took them a while to read the shirt which was humor in itself. Cafepress.com has great shirts.

I bought a blank card and wrote: 1+1=3 I am sure! Inside, I kept a copy of the first scan. (The doc told me that I was pregnant. )

By throwing up three times a day and uncontrollable burping all of the time :-) Experience from DS1 had learned us that peeing on a stick now only was a formality... :D

the first time i made a big ho'haa out of it. treated him to a super-expensive dinner and said it'll probably be the last time we're at X restaurant because nursery fees are so high LOL took him a while but he was ecstatic. we lost that precious little baby plus babies 2 & 3 thereafter :( so with baby nr 4 (i'm 32 weeks now) we were planning everything diligently and i knew immediately. unfortunately, as a result of our history, we were both so sceptical and did not want to get our hopes up that it was a question of "i'm pregnant" and getting to the doctor as fast as i could. when we reached our 12 week mark, it was celebration time - with apple juice ;) congrats on your pregnancy ... i assume?

Since both our kids are planned , My husband stood out of the bathroom waiting for me to do the tests and in both times i just stuck my head out and said positive hoping it's still there. But he asked for the test sick and held it just like that and it was soooo humiliating for me since that stick isn't really clean..you know what i mean :D

With first DS bought blank card with cute baby face on front and wrapped up little baby outfit. Gave both to him under guise of welcome home present...was very emotional and took couple of seconds for penny to drop - priceless! Awww, that sounds like a beautiful way of doing it! DubaiCat, I like your approach....straight to the point!! ;) Come on ladies, what did the rest of you do? edited by LMAO-DXB on 16/11/2011

With my first I picked myself up off the bathroom floor, went back into the bedroom, flung the curtains open and woke him up with the test stick in my hand. With my second, I met him at the door with DS in one arm and the test in the other, bawling as DS was only 8 months old and we were most definitely not trying! :D
