It can contain salicylate salts which has been linked to Reyes disease. Bonjela Teething Gel doesn't contain these and is safe to use. It's just the Bonjela formula for adults (or any that contain the salts) that you need to avoid.

Just read a few articles on Bonjela, so will be swiftly removing it from the medicine cabinet :\: Had no idea, and wish that the packaging would come with the "not advised to be given to under 16" warning!!! I've told loads of mums about it recently... None of them had a clue! It's bad.

Read up about Bonjela, it's been taken off the shelves in some countries. Cold flannel/facecloth is DS fave. Those teethers with water/gel in...put it in a jiffy bag and stick it in the freezer for a bit. Give DD your fingers...DS loves going crazy on mine. Rub some calpol/Adol on her gums. It's so hard to see them in a little discomfort isn't it.

careful with the gels... Mine always gagged from them. We're going through teething now. DS 8months seems to have been teething forever.

- Stock up on Bonjela!!! You can get it at Boots for 15aed a tube! Rub it on the gums whenever she is in discomfort. - Ashton & Parsons powder to rub on the tongue - Tommee Tippee makes a teething dummy - flat on both side with ridges & bumps that they can bit on. I bought mine at Spinneys in the week - And you can also buy her a Amber Teething necklace. Babysouk sells them online or you can get them from a store in Festival City. Good luck! DD is currently teething and I know how frustrating it can be :(
