Agree with Tinker Bell - get them to email you an updated list. I would be surprised if there were only two clinics available. Be sure to clarify whether maternity insurance (just because you have insurance doesn't mean you are automatically covered for maternity as I found out with mine!) is covered and ask the insurance company to tell you which clinics are "within network" (direct billing) - saves you the trouble of seeking reimbursement!
good luck : )
Congratulation Jazzybee! :)
Phone the Insurance compnay and give them the number of your insurance ( which you will find somewhere on the insurance card) ,ask them which hospitals /clinics are listed in their direct billing.you can even ask them to email you the list.
Looking at the website is not accurate enough as same insurance company have different plan schemes for each company .. so better to contact them directly.
All The best :)
Thank you both for your replies, i have one more question pls.
M you mention we can go to the listed clinics in the insurance plan (we have insurance) but i don't have the list of clinics thats why i just logged into the insurances web and the only 2 clinics came up was the mideast and london dubai and they are far from where we live, so i think i'll just go to one that is near us, pay and claim it back.
Did u ask the insurance for such list?..
thanks
Congratulations Jazzybee! Like YellowJellyBean, I was you a couple of months ago too and am now in my 35th week. It's important to you work out your insurance. If you have maternity cover, you can go to any of the clinics listed in your plan and register with any of the hospitals in your plan. I can highly recommend Dr. Anna at Dubai London Clinic but unfortunately she is not registered with any hospitals as yet. I was seeing her early on and then switched to City Hospital where I have been seeing Dr. Ibrahim. If you prefer, you can see an OB/GYN at any of the hospitals listed in your maternity insurance. As soon as you start seeing an OB/GYN as an outpatient at a hospital, they will automatically register you to deliver there.
If however you don't have maternity insurance, you can a) continue going to Dubai London Clinic but pay each time you see the OB/GYN, b) register in the public system and pay for antenatal visits and delivery or c) register in a private hospital and pay for antenatal visits and the delivery.
If you don't have private maternity insurance and would prefer to go through the private system, ADNIC is currently the only insurer that will provide immediate maternity coverage.
I would also recommend you keep an eye on this forum and search through previous threads - I found it incredibly beneficial and all the ladies here have been very helpful.
All the best!
Congrats!
I was u a few months ago..totally confused!
I started by just going to my nearest clinic which was a welcare clinic.
I didnt like it too much after a while so I got an app with one of the ob/gyn in the american hospital.
Now i see her like once a month and for my scans, will deliver there with the same dr.
Its really nice there, the nurses are lovely too and its well organized.
If your insurance covers the american I would definately recommend it, you might wait a few weeks for your first appointment but once you are in, you will then get your appointments easily.
Best of luck :)
Hi,
just found out Im pregnant yippeee, but I don't know where to start, i mean in terms of: where to register, doctors, hospital.
I was told that you have to be part of network, then you look for doctors, register etc?....in the UK you just go to your GP and local hospital if needed, simple here it all just seems so confusing :(
I looked on insurance web and they show Mideast Polyclinic and Dubai london clinic as direct providers, does this mean i can just register with them and take from there.
Has anyone heard of these clinic and are they any good?...
Any advice step by step on how to do this, pls...really appreciate only been here 3 months. thanks a million
