morning ladies wonder if you can help- recently my sons nappies have been leaking in the night- i have got up a size and that worked for a while but last night at 4am he woke up and was soaked through his pjs and sleeping bag.

we use pampers and have never had a problem with them- during the day they are fine.

any tips? i dont really want to have to change him during the night before i go to bed as i know he wont settle well after.

9oz seems like an awful lot of milk at one time at 15 months. Then again, I breastfed my kids and they never got more than 4-5oz at a time. I'd work on getting him to take more milk throughout the day instead of such a large amount at once. That will probably help some of the leaking issue and will also help you out as he gets older and you move to toilet train him.

we had this problem too, its especially common with boys I think. We found the pampers nappy pants the best as they are gender specific so the boys ones are extra absorbent in the front. Also try using less cream as that interferes with the absorbency of the nappy and you can double layer a bigger size nappy over a smaller one. After a while they start to wee less in the night and its not a problem anymore.

We have been having the same problem over the last couple of months with DD who is now 19 months. It happens everytime she has a growth spurt because she thins out a little at each spurt and then it takes a few weeks for her to get back to the tummy size that she was before. We just have to tighten the nappies a little more than usual for that period of time.

I had the same issue - I tried pampers and huggies in smaller & bigger sizes but they didn't work. I changed to Bambi and they worked a treat!

. However, for your son to have such full nappies at a young age might mean he is drinking too much at night - is he getting formula? I agree with Quinn. If he's fine during the day with Pampers he should be fine during the night as well. At 1year he's sleeping through the night and not waking up to eat/drink so perhaps minimizing his fluid intake before bedtime would help???

There is something called Good Nights - I buy them at Spinneys. They hold more than regular nappies. However, for your son to have such full nappies at a young age might mean he is drinking too much at night - is he getting formula?

How old is he? Maybe go back to the smaller size for nighttime? Are they leaking because its full or just coming out of edges? edited by lincolnimp on 12/08/2013
