Just popping on to say TDB i am sure you will have good news soon, i haven't been on the board much, what with my 16 week old DD never sleeping (good job she is super cute!) but i remember all too clearly the stress of a high risk pregnancy. thinking of all you ladies and wishing you the best x

Hi ladies TDB I'm sure everything will work out fine. To the other ladies, glad to hear you are all doing well. We are already 5 mths in, yay! We had a quick 20 week scan today, still not sure of the gender. But munckin doing really well. We have the anomoly scan booked for next week, any idea how long that takes? Will have it at the Radiology dept at Al Zahara. Where do I go for cot mattresses?, we need to replace ds matteress, and another one for the second hand cot we purchased. Do the babes born here have the whopping cough vaccine? We want to go back to the UK a month after munchkin has arrived, but not sure whether I should have it, as it will cover munchkin. Pregnancy is going well, still have a little neausea, was sick a week ago. Certain smells still not agreeing with me. Munchkin sitting on my bladder so cannot take the dog for a long walk at the moment, too uncomfortable. I fainted a month ago, scared the life out of me, on extra iron tablets, but I think it may have been low blood sugar. Was at home and fell off the dining chair onto the floor, ds was with me at the time. Lucky I wasn't driving. Dislike pregnancy, will be happy when the end of May comes. Munchkin moving around like crazy, never had that with ds. Take care x

Hi everyone Its so exciting..almost everyone already knws whether they are team pink or blue. Im having a girl and super happy..DS will have a sister now. Im only worried if they are going to get along, and Im sure he is gonna pull her hair :) Did our 20 wk scan...n all is good. TDB have faith all is goin to be alrite...cuz no point in stressing urself out. For my first baby when i went for the last trimester scan his femur lenght n head circum werent matchin...his fermur lenght was almost more than 2 week diff than the head circum..I was sent to Corniche Hospital Fetal Medicine Dept..n i just had to wait..as this is suggestive of Down Syndrome..all i could do was wait to deliver n be positive. I had a healthy boy .. I can imagine wht u r goin thru...but hve faith..

hi all May mums :D Hi Dangerous Blonde, when I went for my 16 weeks she told me 800% its a boy, I was a little bit disappointed as I wanted a girl but now I am OK as my little boy will have a brother to play with. so finger cross with you to have what you wish and a healthy baby ;) a small advice for future mums : I stopped going to Iranian Hospital it was a nightmare there, I was chocked when I saw a poor pregnant woman doing her monitoring in the visiting room (room 23) and I was looking at my self like that, so i said noway !!!! the second part is, on my first visit the gynecologist gave me one ultrasound and full blood test to do, so I asked if it is possible to do the ultrasound today (too curious to know the *** of baby !!!) and the blood test next week and she told me yes, I waited 1h to do the ultrasound, anyway I went the next week to do my blood test and they told me oh no you need to do another ultrasound... so i stopped everything with this hospital and I went to Al Zahra hospital in al Barsha, and doctor Yamini is quit good, we will see during the labor how she will be :) take all a good rests, as we are entering in the best part of pregnancy without sickness and feeling our baby moving :)

Hi all Mums, I am new on the forum, but i am always reading your advises :) I am waiting for my second baby on 8th of May, I had my first one in City hospital it was wonderful (when you have an insurance). Actually I have no more insurance as I stopped it and baby came without telling :), anyway I am trying to look around after all the cheap hospitals and Iranian hospital seems to be good on price but I don't know about their service, I am quiet lost as I am always afraid to finish my delivery with an expensive bill. if someone already had an experience with Iranian or Saudi German hospital I would love to know it.

Hi ladies, Hope you are all feeling better. We had our second scan yesterday at 13+1. Munchkin is very active!! Next app in 4 weeks just to check the hb, then another scan 20 weeks. I'm certianly liking Dr Yamini, and the hosp is dead!!! It's so so quiet its loverly. Actually get seen on time too. Just about to book my flu jab (back to the UK for Xmas), and then whooping cough at 28 weeks. We plan on going back to the UK for 3 weeks in August. The nausea has now passed (lasted 24/7 for 3 weeks), still exhausted though. My belly has really popped out, had a small bump at 8 weeks, 13 weeks in and its getting very noticable. Sicatica has started down the back of my leg, my joints are aching. Nothing ached until I was 5 mths + last time. Still walking the dog 3 miles every morning though I'm finding that I'm short of breath, my heart feels like it's going to come out of my chest. ( I remember this from last time). Hope all you ladies are doing really well XX

Hi Everyone, I've recently found out that i'm expecting my first on the 30th May. Really excited and emotional at the moment! Does anyone know when you are meant to start pre-natal classes and where you can do them? Feel at a bit of a loss where to start with it all! Seems a bit early to do a coffee morning as i don't have a bump yet; just look a bit fatter! Tried and failed to find maternity clothes in Mall of Emirates at the weekend. Apparently Asos from UK is good, does anyone have any closer to home suggestions? Dangerous Blonde - love the idea of a babymoon! Need to suggest that slowly to the husband!! ;)

Hello Ladies... I am joining in the May 'to-be-mommies' gang. Am due on 11th May with my second, DS is already 25 months old. Just when we thought we were getting our lives back with DS turning 2, I discovered we will be having more sleepless nights for another 2 years at least ... lolz must be karma ;) As happy as I am for DS to have a sibling, hopefully a girl (I always wanted 2 kids), I can't help but worry about the timing a bit. I have been battling with borderline depression for the past few months, so I feel I am not 'ready' for the new baby challenges yet. Any ways, this was meant to be... Congratulations to all the lovely ladies. TDB, I am pleasantly surprised to see you in the group. I follow your posts regularly, and I seem to think that you have been preggers from a loooong, loooong time. No so long, though, as our due dates are close by....

Hello all Am slowly coming out of the nausea and aversion to food spell, however far away from getting over acidity, bloating and burping. Any home/natural remedies working for any of you? Hope all of you are feeling better too.

Hello ladies, congratulations to all of you!!! I also did a pregnancy test about a week ago, which was positive?. I assume I'm about 6 weeks pregnant. My husband and I have been in Dubai for 2 months now(from the UK), so I would really appreciate advice, tips, etc. Firstly, I need to go and see a GP, can anyone recommend a good one. Also hospitals for scans, births, etc?? I am SO clueless?

Does anyone know how early they can detect the gender of your baby here? I know it's traditionally around the 20 wk mark but I've heard that there has been more advances recently and it's possible to tell at 12 wks. I just don't know if that applies to Dubai.......

Human chorionic gonadotropin or hCG hormone rises rapidly during early pregnancy. No one knows how this contributes to nausea, but it's a prime suspect because the timing is right: Nausea tends to peak around the same time as levels of hCG. Women have higher levels of hCG, when carrying multiples, same with the sense of smell. Have you tried taking ginger it worked like a dream for me. Congrats to all the mamas2B

Hope everyone is doing ok, thinking of you all and praying for strong healthy heartbeats and babies x

Finally I got an appointment with Dr. Raj at American as late as Nov 4. Crossing my fingers I like her as much as people who rave about her. ETA are you all dealing with sleepiness too? All I've done the past two days is sleep thru the day and night. edited by keepinfaith on 02/10/2013

Congratulations jojobaaklini. Twins is double the joy though at the moment they may seem like they are double the nausea ;) I keep sucking on lemon pieces with salt. Settles nausea quite well in my case. Since its completely natural, it may well worth be a try. Also try to stick to bland food if you can cos spicy food triggers off more sickness.

Congratulation to everyone!! I'm also a May "to be" mummy and after going for a scan we've discovered I'm pregnant with TWINS!!! Nervous does not describe how we are feeling, as this is our second/third babies now. All is well with both heartbeats, just wish I felt well!! I've had the most unbearable morning sickness and unlike my first pregnancy this one I'm actually vomiting and can't keep anything down ? It's that bad I would rather go through labor again!!! If anyone has any solutions let me know, I've tried everything including meds by the dr but they make it worse and make me even more sleepy than normal! Good luck with the growing bumps and appetites Lots of love and hugs x

Congratulations everyone. Am joining the club for end of May 14 with baby 2 after a long 6 years gap. Took a long time to decide :) Seeing Dr. Elsa next week for the first time after hearing a lot of positive stuff about her, however trying to figure if I should see someone else too just in case. baby 1 was 8 mo when we moved here, so this is going to be different for me too. Incidentally Barsha Lady1 where has Dr. Shiva moved to? Have heard good stuff about her from friends here. edited by keepinfaith on 24/09/2013
