Medcare Hospital - can you have more than 1 person present during the birth?

I am due to give birth to my second child in a few months. My mother is visiting again and I would like her present at the birth.
I am delivering at Medcare Hospital (opp Safa Park).
My doctor informs me I can only have one person present during the labour. My doctor said the same thing last time I gave birth.
Just want to ask, is this correct?
