Hi ladies,
Anyone delivered at Medcare recently? I'm due in a couple of months and have been going to Medcare for my checkups. No complaints so far. I do have insurance but I am curious about what the bill is like at Medcare, when you check out post delivery. Both C-sec & normal. I do know they charge for a lot of things not covered by insurance like epidurals(?), diapers, wipes etc, so would like to know if there's anyone who can give me a ballpark estimate of what I should expect. Don't want to be taken completely by surprise! :D

Hi, You should check what amount is covered by your insurance. We had Oman Insurance I delivered at medcare in July 2012. Almost everything was covered, we paid extra for: - Epidural AED1000 almost - Sitz bath tray AED50 i think (for my stitches) There were some other small things but it was a small amount though compared to the 10,000+ that the insurance paid! Also, check if you can get insurance for your LO, we didnt even check and had to end up paying a lot for her things including nights in the nursery, she had jaundice so phototheraphy costs etc, so you should look into what the policy is. We paid almost 4500 for her.

I delivered three times at MedCare. All normal deliveries (2 with forceps), all with epidural. We paid around AED 500 for each. All depends on your insurance, though.
