Moses basket - where is the best place to buy?

Hi all,
Have any of you found any nice Moses baskets recently? A lot of them are very fussy and am just looking for something quite plain. I dont want to spend a fortune as Bubs wont be in it for very long but any recommendations gratefully appreciated!

I bought the basic mama's and papa's basket, without all the faff and with just a white/cream liner and mattress. It looks very pretty on its wooden base. In retrospect though, I would have tried to find a basket that came without the liner, as having a padded liner in, IMHO makes the basket a suffocation risk, I removed it but then the mattress was too small. Moses baskets are safe by design, as the woven sides would allow a baby to breathe through if they rolled up against them, a liner poses the same risk as cot bumpers. I also couldn't fit the sensor pad for my angelcare monitor in it and even if I could have, the rocking base meant it was too unstable for it to work In the end we borrowed a bassinet with mesh sides which was bigger and far safer, I'd suggest buying a basic unlined moses with snug fitting mattress if possible and not even bothering with a stand, just use it for toting baby around the house if they are sleeping downstairs or you are visiting friends, and invest in a proper bassinet or go straight to the big cot for night sleeps. just my thoughts

Dallydo, i have a moses basket i bought from the babyshop. I know what you mean, some of them are ott. It depends on your definition of fussy though. it is pink/white. Let me know if you want a photo sent
