Thank you all, I have expressed and feel a LOT better, just hope I don't have to do it too often.

I think it is a good few weeks, but you can go to the dr and get some tablets to dry up your milk supply, i think this makes them less painful! These are no longer recommended due to some pretty dangerous side-effects. I used to find that hand expressing in the shower to relieve the pressure helped. I'd just do enough until they weren't rock solid anymore and slowly wind down. Won't be long! Try some brufen :) agree with the handpumping in the shower. you can also use a hot water bottle/similar to ease the pain.

send DH to Spinneys on the way home for some Savoy Cabbage and pop some leaves in the fridge and then in your bra for some relief!

HAK thanks I think I might have to resort to a little pumping this evening, worried to make it worse or prolonged thou, I can't take the pain.... woe is me lol.

pump'n'dump... just a little to relieve the pressure. You obviously had a decent supply, so that will take time to drop - you may have to simulate a longer withdrawal period and not go cold turkey. Or it's not too late to start up again! [bright spark'> I certainly found that for about 2 weeks after stopping with DS, I found myself regularly wondering if I could just pop him back on and pretend it'd never happened.
