I need some help in deciding which Health Insurance to take for DS. Unfortunately we dont have a company cover and will need to do this privately.I am out of Dubai at the moment so will really appreciate some recommendations.

Also a quick search on EW brought up the names of some suggested pediatricians. Please could someone tell me which Insurance cover these docs:

Dr Khan at Cooper Health Clinic.
Dr Loubster of Infinity Clinic
Dr Keith Nicholl @ Keith Nicholl medical centre

TIA

My LO is with Dr Loubster at Infinity Clinic. With Infinity Clinic they do not do direct billing as far as I am aware. DD has Bupa International so its a lot of form filling I'm afraid. In fairness to Bupa they always pay up quickly.

Thanks for the replies.I was considering Daman as its known to be reasonably priced but sad to know that they would not cover the child alone and if i take another adults along with the child then probably it would cost much more..nevertheless will get an accurate quote from them. Any other recommendations besides bupa and daman? Also is it better to go through a broker or contact the insurance company directly?

DAMAN only cover the full family they won't cover a child by themselves.

Hi Just a quickie, regarding Daman, I have had to make a few claims as my doctor at the time was not on their network, I did it online and found it really easy. There is an option for cheque delivery (they send it by Aramex) or direct bank transfer (I haven't tried this yet). Basically you jsut input the details and then send them scans of any relevant documents, eg lab reports, claim form filled out by doctor etc etc. Hope this helps - I too had a nightmare claiming in the normal manner, seemed to take forever, but with this I have been paid on most occassions within 2 weeks of submitting and you can check the progress online. BUPA cover children without a parent. You have 2 pay upfront but they reimburse 100%

When I looked into this for our family, a few companies said that you cannot insure a baby alone, has to be along with one parent or in some cases its compulsory for the whole family to join. The latter was the case with Daman. So if you comparing prices its worth noting the prices for the adults too. When I go to Cooper Clinic I have to pay the bill in full, then Daman reimburses 80% as its not in their network. Note that Daman doesn’t pay directly back into your account, we have to collect the cheque from their office in JLT then the hassle of going to the bank to cash the cheque! So ancient! Hope this helps.
