I saw Dr Delphine this afternoon and she was lovely. Very kind, patient, understanding and sympathetic and just what I needed. She is able to refer you to a psychiatrist or a psychologist (Dr Hassan, the psychiatrist, is on leave until December 10 but Dr Anne, the psychologist is available). I'm seeing Dr Anne on Tuesday so I'll let you know how that goes. In the meantime, I hope you've managed to get an appointment somewhere and are feeling OK :).

I have started seeing dr Charlotte at Top Medical Center at Grosvenor House Hotel. She is a family doctor but is also a qualified acupuncture practitioner with expertise in women's health. Having recently moved to Dubai, I had to arrange repeat scripts for my PND medication. I found her to be sympathetic and easy to talk to and was then very interested to hear that she may be able to help me reduce my meds via acupuncture. I totally empathise with you and think you are doing the very best thing asking for help. certainly best thing I ever did. If you need to talk, let me know and we can arrange to meet or email. Dr Delphine is great - although not a psychiatrist, she is a family doctor with special interest in women's health and she can refer you for counselling if appropriate - and Dru Campbell is also lovely and very sympathetic to mums with PPD. I haven't heard much about Dr Fischer, but he is recommended on this thread, and so is Dr Kay Deeming. http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/messages.aspx?TopicID=160790 The very best of luck. Dr Delphine at Motor City Medicentres has been highly recommended to me, as has Dr Campbell who's a midwife at Health Bay Polyclinic. When I called Medicentres yesterday Dr Delphine still had some appointments available this Sunday - I'm seeing her then so can let you know how it goes if you'd prefer a personal recommendation. Dr Fischer is another name that's been mentioned to me but I can't remember where he is. I hop you get the help you need. It's one of the worst feelings I've ever experienced :(.
