I am 15 wks pg and looking for prenatal pilates or yoga in Jumeira. Just realised that there is a prenatal pilates class at the Real Pilates studio in the Palm Strip mall, really close to where I live! Any feedback on this class?

I posted this on the main board but didn't get a response so hoping someone can advise.

TIA x

I have been going to the ante-natal pilates classes at Up and Running on Al Wasl Road (few doors down from Health Bay). They are run by Laura a physiotherapist so I felt safe with the exercises. Def helped with my back pain in the last few months. Classes are fun with only 3 women and she can help you with any aches and pains! I got to use all the scary looking pilates equipment as well!

I did both and loved the pilates for keeping toned as i stopped body pump at 24 weeks due to bump size. I dont like regular Yoga but i did enjoy the prenatal as towards the end when everything became sore and i felt like a whale, it seemed to give me a new lease of life. They also encourage a lot of kegel excercises. I also did the pure fitness classes called blooming fit and loved them as more cardio for someone who is already fit but they can and did alter the excercises for all levels of fitness.

Hi - I tried to enroll in classes but found the ones outside of business hours to be fully booked well in advance. Instead, I downloaded a pre-natal pilates video and found it to be really helpful and convenient. Having delivered just last week, I can confirm the strengthening exercises really helped during and post delivery. The DVD is called 10 minute pre-natal pilates.

Hi YJB - I would advise you to book in advance as the class was full. But you can pay for a single class, which is what I did just in case it didn't go to plan. I'll def be going back next wk though :-) Thanks for the info..will def have to try it :)

Thanks! I went to prenatal pilates at RP this morning and it was fab! Harder than expected (think I'll be sore tomorrow) but def worth it. Divine (the instructor) is very good and also friendly and approachable. Hi KarenBlixen, can you just show up to the pilates or you have to pay in advance? Im thinking I will try it this week, my back has just started to hurt really bad!

I did a few classes with Zen Yoga at the Village Mall on the Beach Rd, really enjoyed them and then continued with a DVD at home. (Pregnancy Health Yoga/Tara Lee)
