Separation anxiety or 4 month sleep regression?
Hi ladies,
Hoping you can shed some light on either issue:
DH left last week sunday on a business trip and returned yesterday morning (it was his first trip away since DD was born - she is 16 weeks). Everything was going swell up until Wednesday! DD normally has 2 x 1hr naps in the morning and 1 x 2-3hr nap in the afternoon. On Wednesday her morning naps went down to 30min and afternoon nap to 1hr :/: She also became clingy and fussy! Nothing changed with her nighttime sleep however, she still went down as per normal with no fuss 7pm - 7am! DH only sees DD for 30min everyday which is in the morning when she wakes. He never sees her in the evening as she is in bed by the time he gets home!
When he returned home yesterday morning, he went to pick her up from her morning nap and instead of giving him her usual big toothless grin, she almost broke out into a cry when she saw him! I had to pick her up, as we did not want to unsettle her too much! Throughout the day, she did not take her eyes off me and almost made no eye contact with DH :( Today she was better and gave him a few smiles and was much more calm and content when they spent time together!
Forgot to add: when I tried to put her down for her naps on Wed & Thurs, she creamed the roof off! I had to rock and shush her to calm her down :\:
Can anyone shed some light on what could possibly be happening? Very abnormal behaviour as she has been such a contented baby of late :(
Ps. I have not ruled out a growth spurt and teething either! I'm giving her Ashton & Parsons for the teething as she
definitely has a pearly white that is trying to make an appearance! I also got her the Amber Teething necklace today.
