Hi ladies, we are expecting our second in a couple of months and since it will be another boy, I have decided that there was nothing I needed since I had shopped extensively for baby number one and most things I can use again. However due date is approaching fast and I am wondering if there is anything I am missing? eg. a double stroller? Would you recommend getting one? Anything else? TIA

Thank you so much Slurp81 and congrats to you on your second boy!! This is really helpful. I will look into double strollers next week end. And yes it makes sense to get a couple of new outfits for the photos. We want ds2 to feel special too;)

Congratulations! We had our second boy in September - we've just about adjusted to life with two! Similarly, I had bought everything for no.1 and felt there was nothing I needed for no.2…especially since we were inevitably given gifts of cuddly toys and a few outfits. However, I did buy a couple of new vests and sleep suits (literally 2) so that we had photos of DS2 in different clothes to DS1 - they look so similar as newborns that we wanted DS2 to feel that he was just as special. You take so many photos in the first few days (we've already noticed that we aren't taking as many of DS2 as we did of DS1 at this stage) that a few new things will be nice. DS2 is now solely wearing hand-me-downs! We have a double buggy (Phil & Teds sport with second seat above/below), I feared it wouldn't be needed given DS1 hasn't used a buggy for at least 8 months (he's just turned 3), but he is loving the novelty of sitting under/above his brother and I guess he wants to have the same treatment and attention as the baby. I have to say, it's brilliant to have DS1 under control sitting in the buggy! On the odd occasion that he wants to walk it's a nightmare trying to keep him close to the buggy! Otherwise, I didn't buy anything else for no.2. I did buy no.1 a present from no.2 and vice versa which they exchanged in the hospital when DS1 came to meet his brother, that seemed to help and DS1 has been great with his brother…so far! We have had a few comments along the lines of "I want him to go back to his own house to his own mummy" but they've been rare and usually when I've been feeding and DS1 wants my undivided attention. Good luck! :)
