Thanks ladies,
That was quite uselful. My daughter is fed 3 main meals with 1 snack. She also has formula in the morning and before bed time.
She self feeds as well but not alot - just bits and peices.
Meagle - its quite good that you've got your daughter to self feed herself at one :) good job !
My daughter just turned 1. She self-feeds (no purees or spoon feeding from me or the nanny). We give her as much as she wants. I have no clue on quantities since it's not jarred/premeasured. Some meals she eats a lot others not so much. She's been known to eat 2 scrambled eggs, a piece of toast and a banana for breakfast. Other days (like today), she only eats a handful of multi-grain Cheerios and a section or two of orange.
She gets 3 meals and generally 1 snack. If she seems hungry, she'll get a second snack.

just follow your baby's cues. mine is 1 year old too and i follow his cue. i feed him half and then keep half on his chair so that he can eat on his own. if he refuses after 7-8 spoon i stop and give him a break and try again after some time. if second time also he refuses then meal time is over.
i have never measured exactly but i know how much he takes in 1 meal. then there are days, like today, where he had very little quantities of food.
do you give 5 times with 3 meals and 2 snacks?
