Can you book a taxi to the airport with a baby car seat? We tried when we flew back to the UK in the summer, but were told you could only get them from the airport, not too the airport (which makes no sense at all).
Flying back home again for Christmas, and don't want to take our car seat with us if we don't have to, but not going to risk the drive to the airport in Dubai with an 11 month old without one. We will have a hire car in the UK from the airport with baby seat included.
What does everyone else do?

A friend tried to book one with a car seat recently and was told they couldn't do it - only the taxis leaving the airport have car seats :(. Another option is to book Safer Driver (or whatever it's called) and have them meet you at the airport and take your car home. You might need to get someone to meet them there to pick up the keys, though.

We did this a few times during our UK trip this summer. Taxi from Birmingham to Alton Towers; taxi from Alton Towers to train station. 3 yr old was always in a car seat; one taxi driver said he couldn't do 2 car seats at once so I held the 1 yr old in my lap, strapped into Ergo against my chest.
