My 13month old thinks its a great idea to keep getting her arms out of her car seat straps. Ive tried adjusting the straps but no matter what fit I put them on she still manages to get them out. This is obviously not good and keeps freaking me out everytime we leave the house! Any tips on how to keep her correctly strapped in?

Sarah...I'm in Australia now so it's local delivery for me. ;) Perhaps have a look here - http://www.houdinistop.com/213392/html/page.html Maybe you could buy from a UK or US site and have it sent to Dubai. You could use Aramex Shop&Ship for delivery to your door. :)

Thanks for the tips ladies. All very useful/helpful! As green-ish said I would rather prevent rather than distract. Il go on the hunt for a chest strap today but if I'm unsuccsessful (which I imagine I will be!) I will have to order one. Do you know how long it takes for delivery from that site? Also, do they deliver to your home address or PO box? Sorry for all the questions but our PO box is really the company's and DH is in the middle of changing jobs! Thanks

Yikes...here I go again, being contradictory...distraction is not really the solution. Once they know how to get 'out', distracted or not, they can get out. It only takes a second for them to get the straps off. When driving we cannot watch them every second. I'd hate that one time they get out of the straps to be the one time some other vehicle crashes into us. I think the only solution is prevention - either buy a chest strap which they cannot undo, or have the car seat properly adjusted and checked to be absolutely sure they CANNOT physically get out of the shoulder straps. Until my chest strap arrives, my toddler whinges, "Too tight!" Too bad I say...better safe than seriously injured (or worse).

I'm sure my DD did but eventually stopped can't remember what I did, think I just tightened the straps as much as possible ... little monkeys aren't they!

u should even consider simple distraction... i used a portable dvd player that ran lots of the baby einstein dvds... worked wonders... she would just watch these and sing along in her baby tones! :) she also learnt most of her first words from those cds!
