we just got a extendable bed for DS, it has 3 settings, min abt 130 cm to max abt 210 cms. I like those cute little toddler beds but then we felt it's a waste of money.

We went straight to single beds for our children. They are all tall so for us, 'toddler beds' would have been a waste of money. Seeing those wee people in a big bed for the first time is priceless! Dress a single bed up with gorgeous fabrics and you'll forget about the cute toddler bed. ;)

in my opinion it is best to buy the normal single bed my son is 3yrs i still put him in toddler bed because i am lazy to go and look for a single bed now... but he is more interested in his sister single bed. so its better you buy him what he likes and you dont want to change beds again after one year. but make sure that he does not have a chance to fall off the bed.. you can get one with rails or some beds are very low to the floor so if it happens and he falls he will not be hurt.

my DS is 11 week old and considering that he has outgrown his big bassinet in 2 month i already look for a bigger picture :) although i do not know whether toddler bed is ok or not but i think i would go for a single bed with guard rails.and if your baby already does not like it then chances are he will not sleep in that! lets see in how much time my baby will outgrow his cot bed :) ps:it all depends on the growth of the baby. mostly (from my friends experiences) their kids moved out at 3-4 yrs of age. <em>edited by angel joy on 11/07/2012</em>

Am thinking of moving DS out of his cot, was trying to interest him in a cute (and affordable) toddler bed but he told me it was a "bed for a baby" and promptly climbed in to a double bed that was displayed nearby, lay down and pretended to sleep. Is a toddler bed a waste of money, since eventually you need to buy something bigger anyway? He is nearly two, how long do they usually fit in a toddler bed? <em>edited by kiwispiers on 10/07/2012</em>
