Is this a dubai disease from living in an airconditioned environment or would it be something else? He has no other symptoms. Just clear fluid dripping from the nose and wet phlegm. Been going on for almost 4 weeks since we started using airconditioning again because of he increased heat and humidity.

My best friends toddler had this and turned out that he was allergic to cows milk, however yoghurt and cheese were fine.

You need to get a proper one with a hepa filter which filters and cleans the air (not the type you add oils and fragrances to which is more for masking odors). The Sharp plasmacluster one is good (the one we have and manny of my friends). It has an optional humidifying function which doesn't make the room too wet. They are not cheap but worth it for your children's health. You also need to wash sheets frequently in very hot water and keep the room as dust free as possible. To be honest I probably wouldn't medicate after only one month, it is possible its viral (tbh regardless of what it is the air purifier/humidifier should help) and needs to run it course. My son had this for months though and only after we went home for a months vacation did it go away completely. I think it is the dry dusty air.

It might be allergy, but I think you better go and check with doc instead of playing guessing games.

I would prefer not to medicate. He isnt good with taking medicine. Will have to go shopping for an air purifier and if that doesnt help then I guess I would have to medicate as Im scared he might develop asthma or some other lung problems. Thanks ladies. Much appreciated. :)

forever, benedryl doesn't cure an allergy it treats the symptoms, if you can eliminate the allergen/irritant (pollen, dry dusty air or mould) then you might get away without meds.

my little boy has various mild allergies and we were told by his Dr in the UK to use Benedryl Once A Day. Not sure if you can get it in Dubai as I always got guests to brting bottles over with them to keep my stock. Fenestil is also really good. Have a chat with one of the pharmacists to see if Benedryl is available and if not see if they can recommend something. The benefit of Benedryl is it won't make them drowsy.

You think its allergies? We had our airconditioners cleaned out last week. Might look into an air purifier. Is there any medication to give a toddler for this condition?

get your AC cleaned properly, they can grow mould which can be really bad for kids, an air purifier/humidifier can help with allergies.
