traveling home to aus w 6 mo - questions re cot and carseat

hi ladies
planning a trip home in june and wondering if anyone has advice about what we should do re carseat/ stroller/ cot while away. i know in aus they have super strict rules about car seats so maybe it's not worth taking the maxi cosi.
ds will be 7 months when we leave. we have a bugaboo frog and was thinking of buying a travel cot - but maybe its easier to buy in aus?? thanks in advance for any tips/tricks from the ladies in the know.
