I didnt think the Hot water from the dispensers were at boiling point? which it needs to be to kill the germs in the bacteria. I used Arwa and will be doing the same with my 3rd. As it has less sodium etc then other waters.
I'm not sure exactly how hot the water dispenser is, but ours is hot enough to burn you when it comes out, that's why it's got a safety latch/switch on it. So I figure it's got to be somewhat hot enough for formula.
I also used to use Arwa for the low sodium content, but Nestle now sells low sodium water with fluoride in it. So I changed to that because I don't think the kids get enough fluoride over here. You do have to check to make sure it's low sodium on the label though, coz sometimes that guy has given me the old bottles with the higher content and tried to tell me it's just the wrong label!!!

You dont really need the whole amount of water if you'r using bottled water. I used to heat 1 oz of water, add it to the feeding bottle, add all the amount of formula to it, then shake/stir & top up with water directly from the water bottle. If you'r preparing a 5 oz bottle for example you need to heat 1 oz of water, then add 5 scoops of formula to it to sterilize it, & then top up with 4 oz directly from the water bottle. It's easier if you prepare fresh feeds as it will be ready for feeding immediately xx
It is recommended that water for formula be heated to 70C to kill Cronobacter sakazakii (formerly known as E Sak), so it doesn't have to be quite boiling. I don't know how hot dispenser water is, though!
I use the boiling water straight from the water dispenser (Nestle water) and mix it in with the formula while it's boiling (just makes me feel better to think I'm killing anything in the formula as well). Then I add ice cubes (pre-made from the boiling water dispenser water) to cool it down.
I wouldn't use boiled tap water here. The tap water is just scary!!!
:)

Arwa is the best for preparing baby food & bottles as it has the least amount of menerals esp sodium & cloride. I won't go for boiling tap water here as the water is not suitable for drinking as it's not fresh water.
Isn't boiling water and letting it cool the same thing??!!! Why don't you just boil bottled water instead of tap? http://www.babycentre.co.uk/baby/formula/boilingtapwaterexpert/
Hi,
What water would you mommies recommend for babies?
I'm currently in my home country and using sterilized water for my 3-month old baby, but we're heading back to Dubai already and not sure if sterilized water is available there.
Would appreciate your recommendations!
TIA
