Same here, breastfeeding does not help me.
I wanted to stop when I was 3months pregnant as I was feeling exhausted and he was about 18months but he suddenly refused any milky product and he never have had another milk than mine so I was feeling bad and continue bfing until now, he is 22months.
So from what is said I will have to wait another 2y to loose my weight as am planning to bf for 2y again the next baby...
Hiya Ladies,
So sorry for the late response, been running after my husband believe it or not.
Thank you so much for your advise and tips, I thought i was the only person going through this in Dubai.
I am losing the weight very very slowly....lost another one kg...woohooo lol
Its so hard to diet and exercise whilst breastfeeding as I feel constantly hungry (no one ever told me I would feel like this lol) but I do try and do what I can. I got for a walk on the running track that has been built on the palm every day (3km) and now I will try and head to our gym when my husband get back from work. Where do you go for a walk angel joy?
I will definitely not stop breastfeeding, want to do it until my daughter is one. I have introduced solids, she eats three time a day now and I'm hoping I can control my diet more now.

I actually gained weight while breastfeeding. The weight I lost immediately after delivery was soon gained after few months of breastfeeding. I finally lost my extra weight after I stopped breastfeeding.
KiranB don't stop breastfeeding.you are already doing a good job. my ds is 10 month and i am feeding him. but i also come in that category where you don't loose weight while breastfeeding. when i started initially i lost 17 kgs in just 19 days but it was water weight mostly. then 2 kg crept back and since then no success. recently since past 15 days i have started regular walking for atleast 6 km a day and even if weight loss is 1 kg i can see my muscles toning up. maybe we could go together? my target is 11 kg too. and there are days when i feel so frustrated specially when you see a dress and you don't get it in your size :( but feeding baby is worth it. so i am just hoping that when i stop feeding him maybe weight loss will start. very frustrating to see yourself rounded.i end to eat if i am not feeling good so that also doesn't help me...but if you have started giving solids to your baby you can start by cutting down fried food and ghee completely. i have controlled my potato and rice intake too.
Yep me too, I actually lost weight when I stopped breastfeeding my son despite being 4 months pregnant at the time. I know it's hard feeling fat but you have to tell yourself, you gave your body to your baby for 9 months of pregnancy, you can give it a little longer. I found while breastfeeding I lost weight in bursts along the way rather than steadily. It must be due to hormonal changes. When my period came back at 12 months I lost a few kgs then so the same might be true for you. You can try and eat a really healthy diet and cut back on the treats, good for you and your milk. You will also find as your baby learns to walk then run your lifestyle will become less sedentary which helps a bit.

I am in exactly the same boat as you, KiranB. My son is 8 months old and I am breast feeding him. He is my third child. As soon as I stopped breast feeding my other two, the pounds started going away without much effort. Basically, I breastfeed because it is the best thing for my son and I am unselfish in this regard. I tell myself that giving him the best is worth looking heavier for a few years. :-)
I think weight loss from bfing doesn't apply to everyone,
I only breastfed for 5 weeks, and I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight by 8 weeks. I didnt gain alot of weight in my pregancy so maybe thats also why?
You're doing [b'>great[/b'> breastfeeding for so long, don't give up just for your weight!
It's never worked as weight loss for me, I have to exercise and watch what I eat to lose the weight, just like when I'm not breastfeeding. I never lose the last 2 kgs until I stop breastfeeding no matter what I do. I figure that it's probably extra fluid.
Maybe some people can eat what they want and not exercise but still lose the baby weight through breastfeeding, I'm not one of them!
You can lose most of the weight when breastfeeding but for most people it's not going to happen if you are eating whatever you want and not exercising.
Hiya Ladies,
My little girl has just turned seven months and I am still breast feeding...I will definitely continue until shes one. I was told that it was an excellent way of losing the baby weight but I'm still yet to shed 11kg :(
I did some research and realised that we can still hold loads of water will feeding and some women don't lose the weight until they actually stop feeding. After reading this i was very tempted to stop, but I felt selfish and decided to continue and put my weight loss on hold as I was producing more than enough to provide for her.
Has anyone else experienced this at all?
Any tips?
Thank you xxx
