Id start putting her in a travel cot for the naps that she's OK being our of the big cot with and go from there. Changing the bedding - it using the bedding from the big cot should help when ou make the night time transtition too,
you could ask you in-laws to buy a second hand cot... there are always quite a few going. Have you asked if they've got one already? My in-laws kept the cot my husband and his siblings used for grandchildren (as and when they appeared) and the cot we use in the UK was actually my fathers, so has now seen 3 generations of my family! It's quite traditional to keep the cot to pass down, so you never know.
Every child is different. DD only slept in her cot, except when we had visitors, when she slept in her travel cot. At about 10 months she decided that's not on and whenever we travelled she refused to sleep anywhere but in our bed. When we were back home she returned to her cot easily.
My 14 months DD is very attached to her cot. She will not sleep anywhere else except her cot at night. She is fine with naps though. We are going away for 2 weeks to in-laws. I am worried that she won't sleep one night. My in-laws are old and in the adjacent room, thus no one else can sleep if she is up all night and crying. Should I take the cot or not? It's a big wooden cot, so will be quite heavy. Our room there is tiny...I don't even know where I will place the cot if I take it. I went to sleep over at friend's once and it was a horror night with the baby waking up every 30 mins and me having to feed her to keep her quiet.
What to do? Please give me some tips on how I can accustom her to the bed?I am also worried if she sleeps in the bed with me, she would want to breastfeed all night :(.
I tried travel cot, but she hates it :(. Is there any wooden cot hire company in London?
