Morning Ladies - so as you all know - it took quite some time for me to get pregnant (and seems i was pumped with alot of unnecessary hormones and recommended ivf - but thats another story!)

Now im 5w3d pregnant - my hcg is 1097 - and as much as i want to get excited and shout it out at rooftops - part fo me is still in denial and part of me is sooo terrified it wont happen. I keep running to the toilet thinking my period has come and i feel period cramps which im told are normal but i keep panicking they are miscarriage pains :(
I know its all in gods hands and there is nothing i can do - im hoping that next week when i scan and see a heartbeat (god willing) i will feel better... sorry rant over!

so im 6 weeks now and saw the heartbeat yesterday :) which was pretty incredible. But im still driving myself crazy with nerves - i had a cramp/pain/ache in my groin last nite - managed to freak myself out. I keep googling and reading all these sad stories and im sure im not doing myself anygood at all!!! I read that the miscarriage rate drops to about 5% after you hear the heartbeat? HELP need some words of encouragement lol I know its in Gods hands...need to just practise what i preach now..

Congratulations Melinda! It is exciting and it's ok to be excited straight away. I sometimes think that by letting yourself celebrate the pregnancy you can relax and enjoy the idea of it rather than stressing about all of the what-if's. You body needs rest, nutrition and more rest. Do whatever you can to fill your time in a relaxing, soothing way so that you are not focussing on the 'what ifs' all day. Trust me, I know how hard that is to do!! And yep...my first three are 6, 4 & 2 and I still worry every day. I'm 41 and my Mum tells me she still worries every day. Get used to it. ;)

abby_n_christina - yes agreed - feel guilty because my husband wants to tell so many people and ive sworn him to secrecy - hope i can relax and enjoy post week 12! StrawberryPenguin - sure what would you like to ask? I didnt end up going down that route.... altho it had been recommended because i supposedly had pcos - even though all hormone tests came back perfect... as much as i want to blame the docs - i would say my impatience was partly to blame...as i wanted results and fast! and we got pregnant finally 2 months after we stopped clomid/gonal f injections..

i think the safest would be to wait till ur past the 12week mark when ur chances as miscarrying reduce significantly... then u can go ahead and shout it off the rooftops! :) until then i dont think u can stop urself from being excited for urself! :) u can include the hubby in the excitement too... and perhaps a few close buddies! :) congrats and don't stress... that won't help the situation at all!

CONGRATS Melinda... can I ask about the IVF thing? Sorry if you don't want to explain. We feel as though our doctors are pushing us into IVF without exploring all other options. Congrats again... SP x

Congratulations Melinda. Cramps are VERY normal i had them 5-10 weeks and sometimes still now (19 weeks).. but like you i was running to the toilet all the time too, try and relax as much as you can... (harder said than done i know) i probably only started relaxing and getting excited a few weeks ago but am waiting for my 20 week scan on saturday to make sure all is good and then fully relax.. i think its natural to worry and it will not stop ever even after the birth :) good luck and relax as much as you can xx
