Thank you all for your guidance. Such wise words! I'm going to tell them in the next three weeks. Will mean I'm closer to the 12 week mark. Oh how I wish my mom was here so I could see her nearly pee in her pants with excitement!

i waited exactly 20 minutes for the news to sink in and call my parents :) i was trying to conceive from past 2 yrs so couldn't contain it. as the OP suggested here got with your guts!! you have already told all of us...Many Congrats

I really wanted to wait until i was three months pregnant as I wanted to wait until the baby was safe (less chance of a miscarriage) But i told my mum first as I felt i could do with the support as I had just moved to Dubai and didn't know anyone.....i felt that i had made a mistake because then my husband and mum felt like we should tell his parents too so they wouldn't feel bad....so i did, and maybe it was because it was the first grandchild but the phone didn't stop ringing since, then it was Skype, then the visits and then the constant, don't eat this, don't do that, just come back here.....i just wanted to enjoy being pregnant my own way....i will definitely wait next time round. It all depends on what your parents and in laws are like... Good luck

Go with your gut on this one. If you think they can keep it secret and you'd like their support if you lost the pregnancy, tell them as early as you feel comfortable. If you think they'd tell the whole world or wouldn't necessarily turn to them, definitely wait until you make it to the second trimester.

Firstly... Huge congratulations! We waited till I was 16 weeks first time round, as we wanted to tell them in person. Just like Nomad, they nearly Peed themselves too. Second time we were so excited we told them early as we had such a smooth run last time, that we didn't even consider that there could be a problem. Unfortunately there was, and we didn't make 12weeks. I wish I'd waited, and next time we will. But maybe threats just me.

I waited until 12 wks with my first but in hindsight I should have announced it to close family sooner- I was so sick and hiding it was not the best idea. Probably around 8 weeks because I wasn't high risk.
