My apologies. I've always classified the "big black ones" as DSLR (which actually stands for DIGITAL single lens reflex cameras), and whenever I hear "digital cameras" I think of the smaller ones. Again, MY SINCERE APOLOGIES. I have the Canon 1100D, it's a starter model. It's enough for me as I was only taking pics of random things and just recently my newborn DS. I'm using the 2 lens that came with it when I bought it. If you're planning to go professional in the future you can get the more expensive models. HTH

Lol, DSLRs are most definitely digital cameras. Nikon or Canon are both good brands and you can buy third party lenses to fit both. I'm in camp canon, but truthfully they both do the same thing. If you needing to use old lenses or want the best quality, go for a full frame model. I have the canon 5D II, with L series lenses, it's a great camera but weighs a tonne. The little canon rebels are a good entry level DSLR, nice and light although my husband complains they are a bit small for man hands.

What do you mean? If I'm not mistaken DIGITAL CAMERAS have built in lenses, you can't change them. Maybe you're talking about DSLR cameras?
