Do you have 3 months salary saved as a "cushion" in case something happens?

Where do you keep it? A bank here? A bank at home? An international offshore bank?

Thanks :)

Agreed - you should always keep a contingency fund, for that just in case moment. I believe that all other funds should be kept offshore. Has anybody seen the deal where you can speak to one of the Expat Woman recognised financial advisors at no cost? I wondered if anybody had - I was interested - thought it might be useful - thoughts??

We save nearly half of DH salary a month..... some of it goes into a policy, offshore which is surprisingly making good money for us.... the other half of the savings go into an offshore bank account.... We keep the minimum here, enough for us to enjoy ourselves. Nippy

When we wrote the Will, we were told to keep the minimum here as if anything happen to DH, the account would be frozen within an hour or so. I keep some in my personal account that does not link to DH, some cash in the safe together with all the important documents (latest paid bills, copy of passport and visa, marriage cert., birth cert, nomination document, etc). Other emergency (i.e. lost jobs)...offshore where no shariah laws applies.
