With regards to acupuncture I started late when I was doing stimms and nothing was really happening and I asked is there any thing I can do. The lady then said acupunture so I phone the Herbal Centre In Zabel and have been going ever since. The strange thing this is i had my first session mid stimms well the day I left the clinic and was due back in 3 days. Saw the doctor and she said right lets get started stright away had session that day then one the following went back and my foliclies had grown hughly. So take that as you want but in my mind the acupunture had helped so I have stuck with it. Whilsto n stimms i had quite a few and on egg collection and transfer. Then after my 2 ww i had my blood test and it was positive :) I have scan in 2 weeks this bit is just as bad as the 2 ww. Now only doing 1 session a week. I am so on edge just want this scan to come as I can feel I can get excited until the. I am so tired all the time and feel so emtional. Just thougt I would share my story as I thought it worked I stuck with it......... Congratulations Fullofdreams :) wish you all the best ..... I also started acupuncture late but because the frozen embroys were not of a good quality I'm stopping acupuncture till I have my blood test next week.. not very hopefull to be honest but at the same time i'm keeping my spirits up just hoping for a miracle I guess:)

I did a ten session with a lovely Chinese lady in healthcare city. It was nice and relaxing but did not have any effect on the egg quality/ lining or anything and in fact I got the flu! it was my worst cycle.....so am not convinced about it and when money is an issue when we pay out so much for treatment I don't think I would do it again! ! But it is a personal thing!

Hi Barmy, I did mine with Dr. Ou she does house visits , she said it's best to start 2 month before the ivf cycle( 2 sessions a month). however had my first session in the middle of my cycle( took some time to be convinced that acupuncture can actually help). I think the most important sessions are the ones right before and right after the embryo transfer.

Hi FullofDreams, I had my first IVF in September which didn't work out but luckily i've saved some frozen embroys ,transfered 2 last week and waiting another week to find out if ..... :) It's not frightful at all , keep the excitment mood on take it really easy and enjoy getting pampered by everyone :) , I've also tried acupuncture this cycle, I find it relaxing and who knows some people swear by it. EW ladies are all nice and supportive, you'll be surprised how many of them tried or still are trying IVF. Good Luck xx

Hi Follofdreams, I just had my first and hopefully only ivf done at fakikh clinic in jumeriah. I was fortunate enough to get a BFP on the first try but I will say this...it was not at all frightful. I was explained every step. I was also told to stay off the internet and listen to my doc. I know this is difficult because you want to know everything your body is going thru but everyone is different. so what you may read, may scare the **** out of you or change your expectations. My best advice is to keep yourself occupied, remember your docs know best and keep them on speed dial. call them whenever you feel like. I will check if I have any information that will help you. Other than that, please try to RELAX. As Gray Girl says, we are here and we can answer as much as we can for you but I want to stress how important it is to be comfortable with your doc and ask him/her the questions you have. if you wanna drop a mail, feel free at cheeralal at hotmail dot com. I will be more than happy to see what info i can provide. Remember! RELAX :) :) :)

At Conceive in Sharjah the treatment cost was around 13k last year, but other tests and scans made it around 20k in total. You can check out their cost on the website as well. IVF is not covered by insurance as far as I know...

The cost varies depending what treatment and tests you need but I understand it can be from aed 15,000 upwards. Are you living here at the moment filbrit? Hi fullofdreams, I'm just about to start my second round any day now. First try in December was unsuccessful and now that I know what to expect and that it's not nearly as scary as I'd thought, I'm hoping I'll be much more relaxed and stress-free this time around. The only website that I've looked at is FertilityFriends which is excellent and everyone seems to recommend them. The only advice I can give is try not to get stressed and be very kind to yourself over the next few weeks. If you want any questions answered, I'll try my best. If you'd rather email than post on here just let me know. Lots and lots of luck to you - many women get a BFP first time, which I hope you do x
