Would you add your FIL?

I just got a friend request from my FIL for Facebook.

I don't want to add him, its a place for me and my girlfriends mainly to keep in contact. My mum is on there, but we are very close and we treat each other as friends.

Would you add yours? I don't even like him particularly.

Problem solved, I got DH to add him, and I took great pleasure in deleting the request :-)

My FIL is the one that does not want to open an account, DH opened one for him under a nick.. and I added him so that he and MIL can see updated photos of DD... Now... if I don't want him to read/know what I write... I type it in my mother-tongue.. lol ;)

I would because I don't care. My husband on the other hand would not be happy.. He feels that my comments on my fb and the wall posts from others are too inappropriate for his family, therefore I am not allowed to add any of them.. OH DARN!

I would. But there's no chance my FiL would ever be bothered with a FB account.

if you are not comfortable adding him then don't :). There really is no reason for him to be on your FB but if he wants to be on his son's, then tell him to go for it lol. Now if it was my mother I would say sure, but...she is in heaven.

Yes, I would add my FIL. To one of my accounts, but not the other :)

I'd add mine but put him on the 'dodgy family' profile I have so he wouldn't be able to see tagged pictures or wall comments and certain albums! Love the 'dodgy family' profile. I just don't feel comfortable with it. Shellly he was just here (DXB) the other week and he knows i use it a lot. I used to travel a fair amount and thats how I keep in touch with all my ex colleagues. If I told him I came off he wouldn't believe me! edited by MrsMopp on 14/03/2011 Ahh, I understand. Maybe just put him on limited profile in this case. Good luck!! hehe

No I wouldn't, but there's little chance of him asking as he can barely send an email, not sure he even knows what facebook is!

I had a request from SIL last year and I just ignored it. Subsequently asked by FIL whether I am active on Facebook, I said that I am on there to be in touch with friends and not family!

I have my FIL, MIL and my own parents. Obviously I am pretty careful what I post on there, it can be annoying at times but for the most part, it is a nice way to stay in touch. (I tag them in photos of the LO's etc)

Nope, don't do it. If he asks then tell him that you don't do FB any more. He'll never know the difference.

H.e.l.l to the no! Block him and let him think you have given up on facebook all together.

I haven't! Or, you could pop him on the "Limited Profile" setting so that he can't actually see any updates and/or photos. It gets a bit complicated, but hey... that's what juggling social circles is all about! lol
