Sleeping Lions is when you get all the kids to lay down on the floor, very still and quiet (great!!) then you go around all of them tickling, touching whispering etc trying to get them to move, the one who stays 'sleeping' the longest i.e. doesn't move or make a sound, is the winner!

I play musical islands... kinda like musical chairs but easier as you don't need to find a whole bunch of chairs. I print out some pictures (related to the theme of the party) onto some A4 sheets of paper. Lay the paper on the floor and let the kids dance around them When I stop the music everyone must find a paper to stand on so you are safe on an island When the music is playing again I take one paper away so that some kiddie ends up without an island Simple easy no judging

Sack race (using rubbish sacks); flap the butterfly (cut out butterflies from paper, one for each child, line them up and kids have to hit the floor with rolled up newspaper so the draught flaps their butterfly over a finishing line); transferring ping-pong balls from one bowl to another using a cut-down straw - they have to suck the ball onto the end of the straw; "pairs" - stick one half of a pair of domino/lotto cards onto various doors round the house and give each child three or four of the matching halves and they have to find the "pair"; blind mans buff; can even get out the music and do the hokey-cokey! Have fun!

whats sleeping lions doodles? A friend has just volunteered water balloons for the pass balloon game...do you reckon mummys would mind a wet child at the end of it? lol! Thanks for the ideas girls. Keep em coming.

Musical bumps, musical chairs, musical statues....the kids love 'em! and get another unsuspecting parent to be hte judge! lol-minimal prep, maximum fun! do it, b brave! sounds like u have a lot planned already....i'd stop there, as kids parties have a tendency to over run in time and u dont wanna stress urself out! :) enjoy it mummy!

Ideas please! Need to have one clear winner of the games with no 'judging' from me...I can't stand the pressure of musical statues :) So far, we have a pinata, pass the parcel, pin the wing on the butterfly (butterflies being the theme). I'm tossing up the idea of a relay of some description, but we seriously lack space. Oh, and we'll have a plethora of 2 year olds as well, so games need to have a bit of skill involved for the older kids but the little ones will probably want to join in too. Thanks girls.
