Oh just saw someone else mentioned it but another thing to do is to take your measurements at the start and on those weeks when the weight loss is slow then do your measurements again.....I found when I was 'dieting' before that sometimes I'd be losing inches but not weight and at the end of the day that's still good! I also don't diet - its a way of life really, I follow Slimming World and the whole house pretty much follows it too as they eat whatever I cook, although they do have extra treats or bigger portions and DD still has full fat dairy etc

I'm a huge fan of this site called http://savingdinner.com She has two seven-day detox menus which are food based and you never really feel hungry on them, plus whole family can do them with some creativity so you dont know you are 'dieting'. Then she has a program for more sustained weight loss. The best part is that she gives you menus, recipes and shopping lists. I've found it really helpful in maintaining my weight, haven't gained at all since I was 35 (a thousand years ago...) and getting the whole family into a fairly healthy way of eating. Good luck!

Exercise will definitely help you.... Also try not to eat anything after 7 O’clock. Two slices of pineapple and four spoons of low fat yogurt is what I had every night as dinner for four months. It kills the appetite my doctor told me...you won't be hungry ... Your doctor recommended that?

if you are doing the Shred you have gained muscle mass :)....it is very normal to weigh more when you start working out. Sounds like you are working hard 5 days a week. thats good. Make sure your gym days are not spent chatting but working hard and your walk days do intervals. 2:2 ratio. Walk hard 2 min, walk a bit mor than comfortable for 2 min for at least 30 min. Give yourself a minute. Measure your waist every week as see how that works for you. also you said you are eating heaps of salad. Salad can be fattening if you plough into 2 or 3 cups a serving with dressing....give yourself a cup-cup and 1/2 along with the protein and dont forget the lowfat/zero fat yogurt. Mix some of the low fat fruit yogurt into zero Greek yogurt, yum. anyway, good luck. keep going.

Hey ladies, Forget the magazine diets. who has time to make a “spicy tofu salad on a bed of rocket with a ginger and balsamic vinaigrette”… for lunch??? ive got kids to take care of. Here are some tips that helped me lose 12 kg and get into great shape: > 5 meals a day, DONT SKIP breakfast >Breakfast: Half a cup of milled oats, the same of All Bran, a handful of strawberries and some skimmed milk, dont beleive that cutting carbs is good, your body needs it and oats and bran is the best form and will release energy slowly in your body throughout the day > Have a snack at about 11am as this keeps the stomach active. A low fat yoghurt and some almonds are great >Salad for lunch, with some sort of lean meat, turkey breast, chicken etc. NO DRESSING, if you must have balsamic vinagrette > Snack around 5pm, piece of fruit is good, berries usually the best, peach is also great as it has little fructose > Dinner like before, lean meat, fish is best with some veggies. GOOD LUCK LADIES, remember eating clean should be like a new LIFESTYLE… It is NOT a diet… it’s about changing the way you think about food.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/13821677/ns/health-diet_and_nutrition/ ....A new study confirms the overall research findings that dietary change, specifically eating less fat, produces more weight loss than changes in exercise.... There is nothing wrong with diets, as long as they are sustainable... weight watchers is a lifestyle change not a short term diet, it can help you learn how to eat properly, to enjoy all the foods you've always liked but how to portion them correctly, as well as open your eyes to thousands of other recipes and eating options. It also helps you when you eat out to make smart choices. Its amazing how many extra calories you may be eating without even knowing it. Spinney's has this super duper food scale which actually tells you the calories and nutrition in thousands of food items, so I recommend getting one of those as it helps you to see how many calories you are eating in each food you eat, and before you know it you're able to judge a food just by looking at it as to how many calories it has... The truth is weight loss is a simple formula what goes in needs to be less than what goes out, and you'll lose weight. The best way of doing this is to cut your calorie intake and up your exercise, you can do this just by walking 20-40 minutes a day, and reducing your calorie intake down to 1400-1800 calories per day.

Thats the most boring thing I ever heard, I actually like eating, hence why I prefer weight watchers where I can eat proper food, a varied diet and keep the weight off

Listen sweety, trust me, I was overweight and managed to lose ten kilos over a few months! Now i didn't do that by cutting carbs or ignoring my cravings. Nowadays we are just so darn lazy! Get off ur tush and work out! Your body needs carbs, sugars and even fats to function so instead of limiting your food intake you should be more active. Don't change your diet change your way of living trust me it works much better hun! Absolutely agree! Cut portions and move your butt.;)

Only been on the diet for 5 days, basically just eating grilled fish and chicken and lots of salads... I have cut down on carbs although I am allowing myself a very small portion of brown pasta or rice or bread per day... I am going to the gym 3 days per week and either walking in the park or doing the 30 day shred video workout on other days.... why the weight gain? I have gained 8 Kg since I have been in the Middle East and I have resolved to loose them now - New Year resolution as I am unhappy with the love handles!

Don’t worry Ice7 . You are not alone in this :) It takes time for your body to adapt to the new diet and it happens sometimes that you gain weight instead of loosing, especially at the beginning of a diet. How long have you been on the diet and what kind of diet is it??
