off to buy an activity centre for the little one today and after advice where the nicest ones are - good quality, stimulating, fun but nothing too blingy or garish. TIA

When I read your title I thought to myself a bit the baby is a bit young to be worrying about soft play centres!

Hi scratch you may have gone already but we really loved the one we bought from Babyshop, it is a play mat that for whislt they are young and not rolling around all 4 sides can be put up and they are in a little square mat with bumble bee and flowers around the edges - very bright, then it has 2 poles that have hanging toys on them (6 in total), when the baby gets a bit bigger and is doing loads of tummy time you can put one end down and the toys from the hanging thing can actually hang on the sides that are still errect. There is a mirror which my DS loves talking to himself through... and then when they are rolling around loads it folds all out flat and toys can then be put on the matt for playing with instead of hanging. we really liked it. Its is very bright though. Hope you find what you are looking for.
