Ghantoot by the lagoon. A fair drive from dxb but well worth it. Isolated and serene. Somewhat littered but on NYE it seemed like it had been cleaned! Lotsa "no fishing" signs but ignored in true ME style :)

I think you can only braai at beach parks. Not the beach itself.

I've seen people bbq'ing on Jumeirah Beach by JBR - not sure if it's really allowed but there were quite a few big groups doing it. there are set up grills by the Jumeirah Open beach.
