Car seats are definitely cheaper - ours was GBP95 over there and almost Dh1000 here. And don't worry about knowing if it's a boy or a girl if you don't want to. Everywhere does white!
Actually I found Carseats cheaper here.
I bought a Chicco for arnd 800 which my son hates.
And i also got a goodbaby one for 500 which my son loves :)

lol!!!
I did exactly the same for my baby which is due next month! :D
Raided the UK stores!
just make sure u know what gender u are having!
List out everything you could possibly want, and get it from there :)
hey yep im from the uk ..and after having a baby in the UK and in Dubai you would get a pram and a cot cheaper there and there is more of a variety there. Also clothes etc are cheaper as mothercare mark there prices higher in dubai than the UK.
oh ho ho! Is the UK cheaper for baby stuff?! Er, YES!
Anything you'd get from Mothercare here is about 30% cheaper over there and Mothercare is one of the more expensive shops.
Buy everything from the UK. Get all your basics from Tescos/ ASDA (supermarkets) including babygrows and stuff (often 3 sleepsuits for the equivalent of 25AED)... get your pram/pushchair out there... any kind of hardware... Lansinoh nipple cream... well, everything and anything you can fit into a suitcase!
I still do exactly that for my two.
I know it is kind of early but I already started to think on the amount of things I have to buy for the baby and even for myself (maternity clothes, etc) as I am first time mum. We would like to go for a pre-baby trip when I will be 4-5 months pregnant, and UK is one of the choices as we have never been there. So, do you ladies think it would be worth going there and doing some shopping?. How are the prices compared to here?. What things would be worth buying there instead of here?. TIA
