Hi Ladies - I'm going to the UK for the first time with my little one (he will be four months then) and am wondering what to take him in when I go back since I will not be using the buggy system I currently use here (am buying one to keep at my parents in the UK). Where is a good place to get a system in the UK - Boots / Mothercare / Tesco and what brand (nothing too expensive)?

So what do you all do? I can't imagine carrying him in my arms as he'll be so heavy.... also how can I take formula on the plane? I'm sorry if this has all been asked before - I've done a quick search but thought it easier in the end to type a new thread! I need sleep now! TIA and 'night night!

Hello Pav :-) We have just bought a Mothercare umbrella fold pushchair for when I go home in April - it's great and will probably live at Mum & Dads too. It was in the sale at about 750 dhs...lies flat for when they are little, has a cosy toes (essential I expect!) and a raincover. It's this one and still on sale, I think: http://www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-Ultimate-Collection-Stroller-Birds/dp/B002YJFQHM?ie=UTF8&ref=sr_1_5&nodeId=42764041&sr=1-5&qid=1297357746&pf_rd_r=18QZZWGQX6X9HGVJQH7R&pf_rd_m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&pf_rd_t=301&pf_rd_i=0&pf_rd_p=229338547&pf_rd_s=center-7 I also plan to take our Ergo baby carrier (well I will when I replace it, the dog ate the first one!!!) and as to formula I think the premade cartons are the way forward. I've heard they make you taste 50% of them so if you think you will need four for the journey - take eight. I'm also planning a tesco online shop for formula etc so Mum and Dad can arrive at the airport at home with some formula- in case I have a hungry man and have run out. Been trying to find you on facebook with no success - will text you tonight! x

Thanks Brown Eyed Girl - can I take the whole thing on the plane then? Someone mentioned the other day they took their LO in their car seat and kept him / her in it the whole time... that could be good. Also re: the formula, if you take bottled water, do you ask the air steward to boil it? I need boiled bottled water to make formula don't I? (My LO will be four months by then). Sorry if I'm being thick - this is all rather new to me!

Some don't make you taste the formula. I always had enough prepared. Or I bought the containers for powder formula at mothercare then took bottled water.

I recently bought the Mothercare Xtreme pushchair, which is fab! It's much less expensive than other similar 3 wheelers and it can be sold as a travel system as it has an optional car seat.

I brought a baby cup from UK to Dubai with water in, as it was over 100ml I had to taste it. After I did this they let me through fine. I think the rules are 100ml max of fluid. We just bought formula in Boots / chemist after we went through passport control and the baggage checks etc and that is perfectly fine to do.

We used our Baby Bjorn and it was a godsend. That way we were both able to push the baggage trolleys and DD was safely attached to our body. ;)
