Thanks ladies :) do you know if you can take brufen when bf? I don't think panadol is going to do anything for it? TIA
Yes...you can take brufen. Voltarin is also fine and was the only thing that even touched the sides for me.
Thanks for the replies, I don't know if its muscle pain its my upper back? As I seemed to really notice it a few weeks ago pulling some sheets off and bed then it took 3 weeks plus Osteopath to feel somewhat better although still sore and now this morning I turned to pick up a bottle for my baby and the pain is back as before :( I'm going tomorrow to the Osteopath but do agree maybe I need and xray to see if there is something underlying. Wonder if there are any excersies to do as perhaps the muscle has weakend due to no lifting in Pregnancy and then no lifting 6 weeks post birth due to c section?
Ask your osteopath for some physio exercises specific to what s/he feels is wrong. Mine (Lauren) did for my hips and she sorted me out completely.

JS...I was in indescribable agony about three weeks after Charlotte was born. Turns out I had a herniated disc. Might be a good idea to see a Dr and have X-rays or scans done to be absolutely sure of what's going on. I would not want anyone to be in the pain I was in because I didn't do something about it sooner.
Hope you're more comfortable soon.
Yes I had painful back problems during my last pregnancy and post birth. After ''sticking with it'' for 6 months after, I visited an orthopedic specialist who referred me for a scan showing a prolapse of one of my discs.. I had a big baby (4.25kg which could have contributed to this) and have been to an osteopath since... Might be worth you haveing a CT / MRI / X ray to determine the exact problem...Good luck and hope the pain eases.
Has anyone else suffered from back pain after being pregnant. I have had two lo's both c sections with spinal and although the first time I seemed ok this time my back is terrible, I have been going to an Osteopath who says its my ribs (at the back?) could this be from your ribs moving around to accomodate bubs, do they move back or stay as they are? Ouuchhh
