Hello ladies I really hope you can help me…

I have been having treatment by a very well known orthodontist in the UK but moved to Dubai recently and need to find an orthodontist to complete my treatment.

I had a consultation yesterday with a very well known company here in Dubai thinking they will have experienced and good practitioners but I was very disappointed. I was told the treatment that I have had so far is wrong and that it needs to be started agian and could take another 2 years!!

I was wondering now if anyone knows of a British qualified orthodontist in Dubai that would understand my situation and help me to complete my treatment.

TIA

Lol, had a feeling it might be them Miss London! I think the dentists are good there, however I think its a case of get you in and get you out over there...like i said cattle market. Im wondering how long you have been having treatment already? If your a dentist then surly someone back home must know someone out here??

I researched this some years ago when we arrived as my teenage son was part way through treatment started in UK. David Carrington at Dr Michaels Jumeirah was the only British trained ortho I could find. He took my son on but removed everything that had been done in the UK and started again. This does seem to be standard practice here whoever you go to. Dr Carrington has done a very good job with 2 of my children's teeth, however some people find him slightly lacking in 'bedside manner' but technically he is very well regarded. HTH

Thanks All, I'm a dentist myself and that's why I am so weary about the practitioner I choose. I went to Dr Nicholas and Asp and was disappointed by the orthodontist's attitude towards the the treatment I have had so far. I expected better from the practitioner especially working for a large company in Dubai!! I will keep looking….

Just a thought but can your ortho in the UK not reccommend someone here for you? I would ask him, tell him your having trouble finding someone who will complete the treatment in the way he has started.
