We have just moved to Dubai, and I am struggling to find the right temperature/sleepwear combination for my children! We have a 16 month and an 8 week old, and we are used to sleeping bags but I am concerned they might be too hot here? Can you advise what your children are happy sleeping in, and what temperature you set their room to? We are currently trying 23 as thats what we have.

Thanks!

our ac is on 25 and my 7 month old sleeps with a onesie under his sleepsuit. No covers coz he keeps turning and turning and during the night he crawls from one corner to the other. If I put it on 26 the room is a sauna, on 24 its a deepfreeze...its a bit annoying to always have to put the ac but what to do.

our five week old is still in her moses basket next to me at night. we havent turned on the ac but use a floorfan. she sleeps in long sleeve footed pajamas and then i half swaddle her (leaving her arms upper chest free) in a thin cotton Red Castle swaddler. she never seems to hot or cold. HTH

Our babys room temp varies from 19-23 (stupid thermostat!) and she sleeps in a long sleeved onesie and a sleeping bag. She is a turner and kicker so the sleeping bag works for us. When her room is colder, we put a sheet on her and a blanket on her bottom half which she can kick off if needed. She sleeps through the night without a hassle but on the rare occasion that she is uncomfortable, she wakes up and yells out so we can go in and fix her.

We have our a/c set at 24 on the recommendation of our peaditrician (my baby is 4 weeks old). She sleeps in a footie all in 1 suit as described by Klee below and i put a blanket over her. sometimes when she gets up she has kicked off the blanket and sometimes she is still covered.

We've got our A/C set to 24 and the kids sleep in light short-sleeved PJ t-shirts and shorts... sometimes not even that. DS will kick off any kind of sheet if we try to put one over him, but DD will keep it on... generally. Just make sure they're not int he direct line of the cool draft from the AC and let them sleep in pretty much the same level of clothing as you do. It's far better to be cool than too hot.

Hi there, Our ac is set at 26. DD is nearly 11 months old, and sleeps in just footie pjs. (Carters, so they pretty much cover everything but her head and her hands). During the winter we put her in the thicker pjs, and if it feels cooler to me I put her in a thicker Halo sleep sac. Aden and Anais make a think muslin sleep sac (bought ours in the USA). She seems comfortable, I check the back of her neck when she wakes for a feeding and it's been not hot/not cool. We also have a floor fan in her room, don't know if that lowers the temp at all. I am usually the "hot" one in the family, and her room feels good to me, not stuffy. Also, is the ac blowing directly on them? We had to fiddle our vents to prevent that. You can always layer a onesie under pjs. Good luck, you will get there!
