Just wondering for how long you can use it? My Ds is teething and I have given him 1 spoonful for the past 3 days, obviously he still needs something as his tooth has not come through just yet, but how many days can I keep giving him some? It says 3 days on the bottle?

My friend is in the UK right now and is having trouble finding Calpol. What are some popular stores she could try? Thanks! Boots, Asda, Tescos, Co-op, Sainsbury's, Waitrose (often have a little Chemist's corner), local Chemists (any and all), Morrison's...

shelly - weird, any chemist would have it, and any decent sized supermarket.

to be completely honest with you, it's not 1 spoonful a day that's going to keep proper teething pain at bay, so you may as well not give him any. I generally save the Calpol for when the tooth is piercing through (and lay on the Bonjella too!) or if they've got a fever or are very obviously uncomfortable (scrabbling at mouth or ears, crying inconsolably, etc...)... it makes me sound like a heartless mummy! lol! You can also try other soothing things, like a teething ring, a raw carrot to chew on or some cucumber sticks. My son literally spent 4 months dribbling with rosy cheeks before his first tooth emerging - had I given him Calpol for the duration, I should have taken out shares!

I think the recommendation for limiting it to 3 days is for when you're giving it 6 hourly for three days. If you're only giving one dose every day for three days I don't see the problem. It's more just so that people will seek medical advice should their baby still remain ill for 3 days with an unknown cause. As you know it's teething I wouldn't be concerned. You might also like to try baby neurofen - works really well with teething.
