Hi, my DS is 5 months old too and sleeps 7pm until roughly 7 but he has a 'dreamfeed' before I go to bed and then usually another feed at around 4am-5am. I agree with Plumie that perhaps it is hunger waking your daughter, now that she is bigger. Perhaps she could be thirsty given that air conditioning can be quite drying on the atmosphere, so maybe giving her some milk or cooled boiled water might help. I'm going to wait until my DS is 6 months old before I start solids as he is not sitting upright just yet. He is a big lad too - nearly 9kg today!

DD is sleeping from 7-7, however still waking for one feed at either 3 or 4am! Wakes, feeds (normally a super feed, anywhere between 7-10min) back down until 7am! She would be fine during the day, but come night time and she would wake screaming every 2/3 hours, and I would struggle to settle her! This has been going on for the past 2/3 weeks. I thought maybe it was due to the fact that we were away traveling and she was out of "sinc", but in actual fact she was hungry and not getting in enough calories during the day, to carry her through the night! I am following the Annabel Karmel Meal Planner, but fast tracking it. So giving her rice cereal mixed with one root vegetable for lunch and then the same for dinner. Lunch is normally around 11am before her midday nap and dinner is just after 5 when she wakes from her late afternoon nap! So far it has been working. Tomorrow we are moving on to fruit for lunch and then root vegetable for dinner! DD has also not gained weight the way she should be, so that was another indication that it was time to get solids into her, and fast ;) She is 7kg at the moment, but only putting on 11grams per day, which is not ideal! Where are you moving to?

OMG for two reasons, firstly we do need to meet our little ones seem to be doing the same thing all the time. I am moving soon so will shoot you an email we will be closer to you. Secondly i was just thinking that today. Perhaps she was still hungry although she dosnt finish all her bottles during the day however perhaps she is needing something more filling. I have resisted as she is quite a LARGE baby, she is now 7.5kgs at only 5months. It dosnt worry me as my first daughter was the same and now is perfect height and weight average but i didnt want to give her something if she didnt truely need it. Is your DD sleeping through from what time to what time? Also How many solid meals are you giving her? Its been too long i cant remember with DD1. :)

LOL Leshell - we [i'>really[/i'> still need to get together! Guess what, being going through the same thing with DD! We eventually found out what was causing her to become so restless during the night - hunger! My milk alone just was not doing it for her anymore :( Unfortunately we faced a challenge with solids, she was mentally ready and needed it, but physically her body still needed to play catch up! So when I was trying to feed her, she would automatically push everything out! She finally lost her "tongue thrust reflex" on Saturday, managed to eat a "whole" bowl of rice cereal mixed with carrot and viola - she went back to sleeping through the night! So could it be this? Have you started DD on solids yet?

Hi all, Ok DD2 is 5months old. She has been 'sleeping through' the night since around 3.5months. I mean from 630pm to around 6am. THis is without a feed as she has all her bottles in the day. The problem i am having recently is she is stiring alot during the night. Winge, cry until i put the dummy in and then back to sleep for 20mins and then starts again. I dont jump up straight away, i let her winge and try and work it out, but when she is crying i put the dummy in, she is happy and drifts back off. Feeling its a self soothe issue as during the day she only naps in approx 40 - 50min intervals, which hasnt really bothered me as she is easy to put down and she does this after every feed. But how do i fix the night issue or is it something i need to start with the day?? Arghhh
