Another vote for Dr. Braithwaite. I didn't deliver at AH in the end as I was high risk and was also booked at Al Wasl but I favored her consultation over the doc at Wasl.

A friend of mine sees Dr Braithwaite and has been impressed with her. I saw Dr Raj (has worked in maternity unit in my home town in England) at the American Hospital and she's great, loved her. I liked the lactation consultant at American as well, she was very helpful, although I believe some find her slightly opinionated! I also saw the lactation consultants Dr Delphine and Dr Enas at Medicentre in Motor City - they were fab when I really needed help with breastfeeding. <em>edited by waterbaby on 29/09/2011</em>

Thanks Ladies! I have bookedan appointment with Dr.Braithwaite so will see how it goes. Dr Elsa also comes highly recommended buthad DD at AH and would like to go back after a really good experience and i liked the fact that they had british midwifes and a lactation consultant.

Dr Braithwaite sounds like your woman , but she is at American Hospital - Oud Metha. Worth the drive for us though.

Probably a bit further than you'd like but I loved Dr Elsa at City Hospital. I've never heard a bad word said about her, other than the fact she's busy - I may have waited for some appointments but when I saw her they were short, sweet and to the point, and as you'd like no nonsense. She worked in the NHS for many years so she was more than happy to deliver my large baby, she scans every time you go but just for her, she doesn't charge for this as she doesn't print pictures or give you the full reports you get at 12 wks etc (She did give me a picture when I asked though!). I asked her at 32 weeks if I needed a full 'growth scan' as I have a history of large babies and she asked if I wanted to see my baby's face. If I did she would refer me but she didn't think it was necessary. It was lovely when my DD born and her weight and how she looked was a surprise :-)

Are there any in new dubai area? Or do you know of any no nonsense obgyn for 2nd pregnancy? Dont need a scan at every appt,dont need my hand held just need a plain speaking dr with direct billing no further than safa park. TIA Ive been seeing Dr Sujata at EHL Dubai Mall clinic. Im not insured until Xmas so she didnt charge me for my first scan, is only doing the necessary and isnt doing any blood tests as I had my medical for residancy only 3 months ago. So far I like her however I havent had any feedback on her previous work so still making a definite opinion. So far so good though. She had what I would say in an Indian name but I would say that she is a British Dr as her language is perfectly fluent and she has a fantastic bedside manner. I have heard good things about Dr Grace Jacobs and Dr Minera who are both at this clinic. They are direct billing there too.
