Hey muu, that sounds reassuring! Im just hoping it isnt anything critical..i regret reading about it online, as it told me more than I need to know!!
Just on another note- who was ur doc at Belhoul? how was ur experience etc?
Hi, My Dr was Dr Ensaf, I would never go back to her, my experience wasnt good at all, if you are with Dr lliana then you are in good hands. Hope the itchiness is better now
Hi
I managed to get my appt last evening and saw the Internal Medicine guy, who said it is Intra Hepatic Cholestasis in preganancy. He said its nothing to worry about, did a Liver Function Test which I just got the results now and he said its high etc, and confirms the diagnosis. I have to take a medicine called URSO 3 times a day for three days. But all this will go once the delivery is over.
I have read about it online and Tablair2004, I have seen your message. ( I have emailed you by the way, would liek to speak to you if possible). The docs said its all good and cool, but online it talks about preterms, still birth etc etc.
I have my gynaec appt on WEdnesday so will see then :(
Hi there,
IRPreggers i dont want to stress you out. Its called Cholestasis in pregnancy. I have had it both times in my pregnancies. Onset late 2nd early 3rd trimester. Intense itching, worse at night. Now i would force them to give you an appointment. I was on Ursodoflux and Vitamin D to help with blood clotting and the itch. There is nothing you can do to stop it just help with some of the symptoms. You are more likely to get it again with subsequent pregnancies also. In Oz i delivered DD1 at 36weeks and here DD2 at 37weeks. As a precaution. The longer you go throughout the pregnancy the higher chance to have still birth. Although the numbers are low. They also have to do 2 tests your bile acids test as well as your liver function test to determine if you have it. Sometimes they only do one test and it comes back clear. But you still have it. Happened here, but i knew what it was and demanded the second test which confirmed the diagnosis. Its difficult as its such a rare condition alot of dr;s dont know about it and therefore dismiss it. Do your research and jump up and down. Here they have a tendancy to be blaze' about things like this. please email me on l e - s h e l l @ h o t m a i l dot c o m if you want to talk or need any other info.
hi irpreggers, my aunt delievered last year and she had itching all over her body from second trimester. after tests her kidneys were found to be effected. she was fine after medications and now perfectly good.

Hi, towards the end of my pregnancy I had the same itchinessall over my body, spoke to my Dr about it and they did some tests to see ifit could be the liver problem, the test came out ok. The Dr prescribed some pills that I to take only when necessary for 3days. After some few days, the itchiness stoppes. BTW, I too delivered at Belhoul
Hey ladies,
I have been having terrible itchy skin all over my body from my toes even on my figertips, not just my tummy. It just happened over the last 10 days.
There arent any rashes or anything, just itchy. I go to belhoul, and the doc said its likely to be a liver condition that occurs to women in the last trimester. And suggested i go see the Internal Medicine doc. However I am struggling to get an appointment and hoping to get an appointment tonight. I went online and did some reading and read complications like still birth, early inducment, c-section, jaundice etc..and its worrying me
ANyone had similar issues???
TIA
