I gave birth via CSection at City Hospital last June 25 our total bill was Dhs 16k which was covered by the insurance. 16k already includes everything.

Hi, I gave birth 10 weeks ago at Medicare and all in with no complications was just under 10k including Dr Yulia's fee. We were shocked as it was a lot less than they quoted us. Good Luck ?

I paid a year ago on the 4th 12000 AED at Medcare this included the baby fee too. I was admitted at 10pm on 3rd July for induction, no epidural. Baby born 230pm on 4th. Everything normal. Discharged at 6pm on 5th July. Hi can you please explain whats baby fee? is that the NICU care fees? or is it something else That's just the cost of the first vaccines, check by the pediatrician etc just standard care for a newborn with no complications. I'm sorry don't know what the NICU charges are as haven't needed them.

Any ideas re costs at medcare including all the extras for normal and csection? I was quoted a worst case scenario of 19k for normal and 30k for csection. I don't have insurance either.

I have been sent the below for AH for a community doctor to perform a normal delivery....i would be very interested to find out if anyone has managed to come out with the brochure package at AH or City. I almost fell off my chair!! The 8250AED is only for the delivery fee, the doctors fee is for 4,000AED and the doctors rounding fee (this is every visit of the doctor at the hospital) is 630AED per day. Laboratory charges is 750AED and pharmacy is 750AED. Consumables (eg. Syringes, cotton balls, etc.) used is 500AED. For epidural that is 3465AED and routine baby charges is 1,200AED. So total cost estimate is around 20,805AED. edited by samie10 on 02/07/2012 That is about right. My insurance paid AED 27000 for an emergency C section in AH a few months ago.

I delievered at IMH in april. we are covered by Alico but the maternity package was very less. the hospital fees was 6000 for c-section,epidural,medications included and doc's fees 9000. already from the maternity limit i had utilised 3500 (15000 aed for c-section) . we heard about so many extras that we were prepared for the extra of atleast 6000-7000 . but ours extras was 300aed!! my DH was shocked and checked twice with the cashier. don't know how but Alico covered everything.

When I delivered at American Hospital in 2010, my total bill on discharge was AED22,000. Their brochures then said say a normal delivery is around AED11-12,000s. So this just shows you the extra costs! AED6,000 was for the newborn charges and AED 3,000+ was the cost of the epidural.
