Help please, travelling for the first time with a little one and packing, I have few cartons SMA Instant milk in those tetra packs, they are 250ml each....can I take it with me in the hand luggage? I want to have a two cartons just as a back up, is this allowed if it is more than 100ml?
Is there a limit how many ml total you can carry in hand luggage? I also want to take expressed breast milk in 3 bottles, can I pour more than 100ml in a one bottle?

thanks

Recently been through Dubai, Italy, Glasgow and Dublin airports with bottles filled with 210ml of water and I also had 500ml bottles of ready made aptimal and a bottle of calpol. No probs at all. Dublin was the strictest in that i had to take the liquids out my hand luggage and show them to security. All in all couldn't have gone better.

We've flown with a lot of liquid, much more than 100ml and once they understand it's for the baby, they never seem to have a problem.

Yes I would recommend decanting the formula into small containers to be on the safe side. I travelled a lot in the past year and I noticed that the airports are a lot less strict about the liquids thing than they were at the start. Obviously a bottle of water will always get thrown away but these days I hardly bother to put all my small liquid items into the clear plastic bag for separate screening and my bottles remain in various pockets of handluggage and they never say anything. But 250ml may catch their attention though. Good luck

Hi CitronKB - yes, we took over 100ml both here in Dubai and also in Sydney. I expected a load of problems in Sydney but they let us through without any questions.

I think in the middle eastern airports you'll be fine, they never seem to question the contents of a baby bag. I have flown out of Doha with much more than 100ml of EBM and was fine.

We've never had problems taking milk, formula, hot water, cold water, purees etc.
